The Forbidden Maze
By Jennifer Haynes

A black maze appears, the man has no choice but to enter
The maze seems interminable and he breaks into a panicked run
Every turn it wrong, each leading to a dead end
A new scream hides in every corner, but they all sing in unison
Suddenly flames spurt up and chase the man
He runs desperately, but he can’t escape
The flames jump on him and engulf his body
A scream escapes his lips and mixes with the others
He falls to the ground and stares up at the ceiling
Twisting and turning in burning agony
Then he starts laughing. “What a way to die!”
“What a wonderful DAY to die!”
“WHAT A WONDERFUL WAY TO DIE!”
He screams this hysterically till the fire catches his throat
The laughing still continues as his skin slowly burns away
They echo through the corridors of the burning maze
And he laughs until the very end, until his body turns to ash
The wind then grabs the ashes and scatters them about
He is laughing no longer, all you can hear are the
Screams of his trapped and tormented soul
Now just another voice in the hellish chorus
