brick by brick a wall is built between us
lines of communication are severed
despite my attempts to avoid this occurrence
the wall gets taller every day
each day that we’re apart another brick is placed
and I can’t seem to stop it
each day that we’re together the bricks stop
at least temporarily
but suddenly one day a week’s worth is added
quickening our separation
soon the wall will be so high that no matter
how loud we shout to each other
we won’t be able to hear the other
when we try to reach out we’ll just
touch a wall
all hope will be lost at reconciliation
and we will be separated forever
