CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

All of the scanners are good scanners, but I believe the CanoScan 5000F is the best scanner to purchase.

  1. It is the lowest priced of the four scanners. (3)
  2. It implements Canon’s patented FARE (Film Automatic Retouching and Enhancement) technology that will fix damage and remove dust from film negatives in the scanned product. (3)
  3. PCWorld.com gave it a 4-½ star rating out of five. (4)
  4. It produced high quality, true to color scans. (4)

See Table 1 for a general overview of the criteria used in choosing the best scanner to purchase.
